Eyebeam is seeking a Project Manager to help with their recently launched open call, Rapid Response for a Better Digital Future, to unlock artists’ potential at a moment when their voices are needed more than ever to build a better digital world. This position will be responsible for supporting participating artists in the program by assisting in stewardship of participating artists’ ideas and projects, aiding in identifying and securing collaborations, documentation of the program as a whole as well as the work of participating artists, and ensuring feasibility of artists’ outcomes. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- In collaboration with participating artists, develop plans of action, from inception to execution, to help ensure participating artists’ goals are met. - Coordinate dialogue and progress updates for all 27 participating artists with Eyebeam staff and key stakeholders. - Provide advice on feasibility of projects and support the development of collaborations for the participating artists. - Prepare artists for public presentations including coaching and presentation development. - Support event planning and delivery as needed. - Coordinate program evaluation with external evaluators. - Plan documentation of the projects in coordination with Communications and Programs teams and external contractors. - Assist Executive Director on reporting to funding bodies on the progress of projects as needed. Key performance indicators: - Ensure program participants have high-quality support for their projects and connection to people and resources they need, in collaboration with programs staff. - Help program participants identify and realize measures of success.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years’ experience in managing arts program, specifically in the media arts or technology field - Demonstrated history of working directly with artists - Self-starter who can work independently and in various working groups, and is comfortable and experienced working remotely - Arts, media, communications, or equivalent experience or education in a related field - Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups of people - Experience providing goal-based and outcome-oriented coaching Preferred skills and experience: - Knowledge, training, and experience in creative development and usage of technology - Demonstrated expertise in project management and its successful public implementation - Strong writing skills in published media (i.e., magazines, books, journals, online, etc)
Compensation:
This is a part time 3 day a week role, the compensation will be $28 per hour for 10 months. This role is also eligible for commuter benefits, paid leave, sick days, unlimited refresh days, and all paid public holidays Please note this role is completely remote. Eyebeam is currently re-assessing work practices, but this role can be remote for its duration.

Eyebeam is acting immediately to invigorate artistic creation of digital futures at this moment of systemic collapse. As economies and everyday routines are disrupted around the world, Eyebeam is taking action to support artists who are imagining a more humane digital realm. We aim to help artists who will create new ways of interacting through the internet, new ways of engaging with each other, and more equitable relationships for sustainable arts practices and creative economies. It is based on the fundamental notion that radical imagination, led by artists, is a key step in building for the long term. The guiding question for this call is: how do we begin to exit surveillance capitalism as the dominating form of digital life and what can replace it? We’re asking artists to generate ideas and actionable projects that enact solutions for rebuilding digital systems, and improving the overlap and interplay between them and lived, social experience. For the first time in Eyebeam’s 20 year history, we are pausing our flagship Residency program. Instead we’re launching a new program, Rapid Response for A Better Digital Future. Grounded in the belief that artists have the most impactful and culture-shaping ideas, this initiative is intended to support projects that are most responsive and potentially groundbreaking in building a better digital world.
