The New Romantics Closing Event

Please join Eyebeam at the closing event for the last exhibition on view in our Chelsea space. The exhibition, The New Romantics, co-curated by Claudia Hart, Nicholas O’Brien, and Katie Torn has already been noted and celebrated in publications like Artnet, Blouin Artinfo, The Gallerist, SFAQ, and Hyperallergic as a highlight of this season. For the closing event, Eyebeam is celebrating the release of an [s]Edition collection (http://www.seditionart.com/eyebeam) featuring new or unreleased works by artists in the exhibition as well as initiating pre-orders for an upcoming catalog published by Intellect.

The collection will feature digital editions of works by Tim Berresheim, Ryan Whittier Hale, Claudia Hart, Sophie Kahn, Sara Ludy, Shane Mecklenburger, Jonathan Monaghan, MSHR (Brenna Murphy and Birch Cooper) and Katie Torn. The diversity of renderings, images, animations, and simulations for sale through [s]Edition compliment works already on view in the gallery and extend the conversation invoked in this exhibition to audiences far beyond Chelsea.

Likewise, the publication will also continue the dialog initiated in the gallery with contributing essays by Jacob Gaboury, Alex M. Lee, Ceci Moss, Jon Rafman, as well as contributions by many of the participating artists in the exhibition. Guests attending the opening will not only have a chance to pre-order but also will have an opportunity to get a glimpse at what to expect when their copy arrives.

Although the event serves to feature these two amazing continuations of the exhibition, it will also be a fantastic send off for Eyebeam as they begin their move to Brooklyn to re-open in the Brooklyn Cultural District in 2016. To help celebrate, DV-i will be providing musical entertainment through the evening.
