RAFFLE:
Support Eyebeam and win prizes! Purchase 1 raffle ticket for $5 or 5 for $20 and enter to win one-of-a-kind art, books, kits and more from our current and alumni residents and fellows. Get your raffle tickets online, or purchase them at the Holiday MIXER on December 11. Raffle tickets will remain on sale until December 31. Winners will be notified during the first week of January.
WORKSHOPS:
3-6PM: Brooke Singer & Stefani Bardin - The Counter Kitchen
Make your own gummy bears, toothpaste and gatorade with The Counter Kitchen ($5)
3-6PM: Ted Southern - Rotocast Aviary
Watch as hollow-formed bird figures are created on a home-made rotational casting machine built by Ted. You will learn the basics of rotational casting and take home a unique handmade holiday decoration. ($5)
4-6PM: Dustyn Roberts - Make Your Own Moustrap Powered Car
Make your own Mousetrap Powered Car, a project featured in Dustyn Roberts' new book, Making Things Move. After you build and decorate your car, you can race it in the Grand Prix at 6PM! ($5)
GAMES & INTERACTIVE INSTALLATIONS:
3-9PM: Kaho Abe - Ninja Shadow Warrior
Ninja Shadow Warrior is an arcade style photo game in which players are challenged to use their bodies to fill in the shadow of an object. The more players, the more success! Accuracy is measured with a webcam and infrared LEDs, and scores are kept on a leader board. Photos of players in action are captured mid-pose and posted online for future fun.
3-9PM: Esther Cheung &
David Jimison
- Shrine of Native Rites for the Electric Winter
Esther Cheung & David Jimison use technology in rituals of psychosomatic magick. The Shrine is a sacred space of the electro native. Projected symbols of a computational astrology on synthetic hides enclose an ambient electro tea ceremony. Guests will be permitted entrance hourly.
3-9PM: Aaron Meyers -
3fram.es
3fram.es is a website built by Aaron Meyers that allows visitors to create and share animated .gifs using their webcam. For Holiday MIXER, participants will add their animations to a collaborative, holiday-themed video mural.
4-5:30PM: Kaho Abe - Mary Mack 5000
Mary Mack 5000 is a fast-paced, competitive, technologically enhanced twist on the classic schoolyard hand clapping game. Strap on your special MM5000 gloves and show off your speed, accuracy, and style. Have an exclusive sneak peak at the new vest controllers that we've been working on. Now there are more levels available -- which means more fun!
6PM: Dustyn Roberts -
Moustrap Powered Car Grand Prix
Learn to build one of the projects featured in Dustyn's new book, Making Things Move, using the torsion spring in a mousetrap to store energy to power a small car. Build your own car, then race it in the Grand Prix at 6PM!

7PM: Fever Creative - Competitive Cocktail Mixology
Fever Creative (Fever Karaoke, Dirt Party, Boozbot) brings back their pARTy activities with a holiday game that will leave you feeling very merry. The elimination rounds go quick, as do the drinks, as teams must make a new concoction. The final team will win a prize, and have their drink of choice sampled by all. Participants must be at least 21 years of age with valid ID. ($7)

Celebrate the launch of Eyebeam Alum Dustyn Robert's long-awaited new book, Making Things Move: DIY Mechanisms for Inventors, Hobbyists, and Artists. From 4-6PM we will be building, decorating and racing our own fun and simple Mousetrap Powered Cars; at 6PM we will host a final Grand Prix and celebrate Dustyn's book! Books will be for sale in the Eyebeam bookstore, and one will be part of the
